Ken
grew up around working horses. His father managed the Northern
Pump Farm, a large purebred Hereford operation that worked it's cattle
horseback. But it was reining that captured his attention, and in
the mid-1960's, he went to work for Dean Ames. Together they
hauled Gypsy Chips Cody and Tookies Two to AQHA Honor Roll titles in the
Jr. and Sr. Reining. It was just the start of a long and
successful career that has been highlighted by Ken's 1999 Saddlesmith
World Championship, NRHA Reserve World Championship on Skeets Peppy and
his 2002 NRHA Derby Intermediate Open Championship and 2002 AQHA
Reserve World Champion Jr. Reining title on Catomic. Ken's NRHA
lifetime earnings are in excess of $224,000!
